Abdominal Massage

Abdominal massage translates into “working the energy and programming of the internal organs” or “transformation of visceral attitude”. A holistic approach to massage therapy within a traditional Chinese Medicine paradigm, (Chi Nei Tsang an ancient Taoist practice), it integrates a person’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy.

Abdominal massage is a practice that can regulate multiple systems of the body from the digestive, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, renal, endocrine and reproductive systems. The practitioner is trained to release areas of the abdomen that have become enlarged, harden or formed adhesions to assist with the healing of the internal organs from a physical, emotional and energetic level.

Abdominal massage therapy is a safe and non-invasive treatment of the abdominal region of the stomach. Also known as a ‘stomach massage’, this therapy focuses on enhancing the function of the many different abdominal muscles and organs through gentle stimulation and relaxation.

One of the most commonly cited benefits of abdominal massage is improved digestion. By stimulating the muscles and tissues in the abdominal region, it is believed that the digestive process can be enhanced, leading to better nutrient absorption, reduced bloating, and more regular bowel movements.

Abdominal massage may also help to reduce stress and tension in the body. The gentle pressure applied during the massage can help to release tension in the muscles, which can in turn help to reduce stress and promote relaxation.
